Personalized yoga sessions are a great and very effective way to begin your journey into yoga, enhance your continuing practice or work through particular issues that you may be having in 
your current practice.

As you may have noticed there are numerous styles from which to choose. From trendy to traditional, there seem to be classes for every body type and personality.  Private yoga sessions
let you tailor your yoga to your specific needs.

It's an interesting fact that the whole concept of a Yoga "class" is relatively new as compared to the history of the practice. For centuries Yoga was not taught in group classes, but as a one-on-one practice. The reason you see so many styles of Yoga classes is that there are so many types of people, all with different proficiency levels. And as our bodies and minds develop and change over time, each person's Yoga practice needs to respond to those changes to remain effective.

A private Yoga/Somatics session provides you gentle guidance in the right direction for your particular needs, that you work towards goals that suit your body and your temperament, and that you maximize your own personal growth.

Sessions are available in the Sacramento area either in your home or at a studio.

                   60 minute session…   $75.00
                   90 minute session...  $90.00  
                       

               Couples or small groups may be accommodated $10.00 additional per person

ABOUT YOUR LESSON

No matter what your reasons for scheduling a personalized Yoga session we  will begin with an assessment of how you are feeling at that moment, both physically and mentally. We will also discuss and determine your particular goals for these sessions.   Based on all of this information I will tailor and determine which asanas (poses), breathing practices and meditation techniques best suit you.

A good personalized Yoga session depends on open communication between the student and teacher.  During the sessions I will often ask what you are experiencing.  This serves to remind you to always be listening to and obeying your body's needs as well as guides me in tailoring what comes next.  Yoga can be hard work both physically and mentally. Therefore, patience and sensitivity set the pace for progress.



ABOUT MY BACKGROUND

I am a certified yoga teacher and Thai Yoga Massage Practitioner with over 500 hours of training and continuing education and have been practicing yoga for many years. I completed basic and advanced teacher training at White Lotus Foundation in Santa Barbara and have gone on to study anatomy and yin yoga with Paul and Suzee Grilley at Sarah Power's Insight Yoga Institute in Corte Madera. I am also certified in Therapeutic/Restorative Yoga through Cheri Clampett and Arturo Peal in Santa Barbara. Most recently I have been accepted in the Somatics Yoga Professional Training Program through the Novato Institute for Somatic Research and Training.

I teach group classes and thoroughly enjoy teaching private sessions.  My education is ongoing in various workshops to fine tune specific areas of practice.  I also teach and am involved deeply in   community outreach including on going yoga classes at Women's Empowerment as well as Mustard Seed School for children at Loaves and Fishes.

I believe that Yoga is for everyone.  Yoga is a process that is especially adaptable to an individual's needs and abilities. Anyone can practice yoga regardless of age, experience or physical abilities.  I also believe in yoga’s potential to improve one’s life as well as improve how you relate to your world and those around you.
